1. Account
Register or log in on nexus-city.net. Then the Nexcast dashboard opens. Cookie domain is .nexus-city.net, you do not sign in separately on cast.
How it works: OBS, destinations, Nexus Live
Nexcast is a relay, not a second OBS. You encode once, we distribute. Below is the order that holds up in practice.
2. Plan
Relay: one destination. Broadcast: three destinations (Twitch, YouTube, Kick). Network: ten destinations plus custom RTMP. Without an active plan you can save settings, the push stays off.
3. Set up OBS
- Settings → Stream
- Service: Custom (not Twitch, not YouTube)
- Server:
rtmp://stream.nexus-city.net/live - Stream key: the value from the Nexcast dashboard. After regenerate, update OBS.
- Encoder: same as for a single destination (x264 or NVENC). We do not double your CPU, we distribute the finished feed.
The mistake almost everyone makes once: leave the Twitch key in OBS and only change the server to Nexcast. Then nothing arrives on YouTube. OBS gets the Nexcast key only.
4. Destinations in the dashboard
Per platform: stream key from that platform creator dashboard, optional channel/handle, Active checked. The limit counts active destinations, not empty saved cards. Custom RTMP needs a full rtmp:// or rtmps:// URL plus key, depending on the target.
- Twitch: dashboard.twitch.tv → Settings → Stream
- YouTube: studio.youtube.com → Go Live → Stream key
- Kick: dashboard.kick.com → Stream
5. Nexus Live (only after unlock)
This is not a destination checkbox like Twitch. Staff sets the flag. You can send a short note. Without the flag your feed does not appear on the public watch page, even if Nexcast is pushing outbound. Donations still work: link in the dashboard, money to you.
6. Go live
Start OBS, check platforms (YouTube often needs one to three minutes). If a destination is missing: key, Active checkbox, plan limit. Regenerating the key invalidates the old OBS line immediately.
